Pat and I love having dinner parties and get-togethers with our friends, family, and clients at our lake house. Last night was one of those nights. We were finally able to connect with our friends Joe and Carolyn. The original plan was to have a dinner and then have a bonfire and roast marshmallows. Mother nature did not agree with this plan and winds gusted persistently for the entire evening.
As the time ticked on my sweet tooth kicked in… how can I have s’mores without a fire? Hmmm…. where’s a gal to find a solution?… Pinterest of course! So with a quick search of “S’mores Dip” and this gem popped up and gave me the inspiration to try a new recipe on the fly. (picture from Pinterest below)

But I’ve seen enough “Pinterest FAIL” stories and had enough cocktails in me to maybe think that this idea could potentially be disastrous, even if it was only 4 ingredients. Well, I disappeared into the kitchen, buttered a dish, chop up some chocolates and top with halved marshmallows. I popped the pan in my convection toaster oven on 450 degrees and watched intently… I was NOT going to start a small fire in the kitchen with guests over 😂 Hmm. What comes out of the toaster is actually looking pretty yummy. (Not too far off from my inspiration, no?)

At the moment of truth, we all grab a graham cracker and dig in together. Big bite…chew, chew… think about it… “WOW!” We all agree between mouthfuls that this is better than regular smores; the chocolate is actually melted and the marshmallow perfect amount of toasty. S’MORE HEAVEN. Originally, I was just going to make a small dish but the only oven safe one I had was this 9×9, so I made a bigger batch. Good thing I did.

As you can see from the background, half the pan was demolished in mere moments and the rest of disappeared shortly after. Pinterest WIN!
Mother nature, blow your heart out! I’m making s’more in a dish from now on, EVEN if we are having a campfire. 🔥
Much love lovely people ✌️
